Centering Transmasculine Voices
a community-led initiative working to create safe, visible, and empowering spaces for trans men and transmasculine individuals across India and South Asia. Through storytelling, advocacy, and community care, we aim to amplify voices that are often unheard and build a future rooted in dignity, belonging, and equality.

Story of Transmen Collective
Transmen Collective (TMC) is a Delhi-based support group and advocacy collective founded in 2017 by Jamal Siddiqui and Ritwik Dutta. What began as a simple conversation over coffee grew into a community-led movement dedicated to creating safe, open, and affirming spaces for trans men and transmasculine individuals across India.
Recognizing the lack of visibility and representation for transmasculine people within larger queer movements and society, the founders envisioned a collective where individuals could openly discuss their experiences, navigate challenges, and find belonging. Since its inception, TMC has worked to foster solidarity through monthly meet-ups, discussions, cultural gatherings, and peer-support spaces rooted in care and understanding.
At its core, the collective addresses critical issues faced by transmasculine communities, including erasure in legal and social systems, barriers to employment and healthcare, and the denial of identity even within male-coded spaces. Through advocacy, storytelling, and community engagement, TMC continues to amplify transmasculine voices and push for greater inclusion and representation.
Over the years, Transmen Collective has launched impactful initiatives such as the Tamanna Fellowship one of South Asia’s first fellowships dedicated to transmasculine storytelling, healing, and leadership. The collective has also collaborated on healthcare research and awareness initiatives to better understand and address the realities faced by transmasculine individuals in accessing affirming healthcare.

Campaigns like #EkIshqAisaBhi have highlighted personal stories of love, identity, and resilience, helping humanize transmasculine experiences and create deeper public understanding. Beyond India, TMC has expanded conversations across the Asia-Pacific region, building connections with activists and communities in countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines to strengthen regional solidarity and movement-building.
At the heart of Transmen Collective are the stories of community members individuals who continue to navigate life with courage, resilience, and hope. By sharing lived experiences through digital platforms and community spaces, TMC strives to create visibility, inspire connection, and remind transmasculine individuals that they are not alone.
